I was a high school cheerleader back in the day, so attending a school with a prominent football/basketball program was always something that intrigued me. Yet, I hadn't had a chance to visit one of the nations biggest and best sports school.  So over the summer I made a pit stop to the University of Michigan aka "The Big House" in Ann Arbor, MI. With the largest football stadium in America and 2nd largest in the world, you know that the Wolverines are definitely a force to be reckon with!
Located just outside of Detroit, this college town is known for their school spirit and world-class education. Notable alumni include the 38th President of the United States Gerald Ford who was a star center for the football program, Jame Earl Jones (Darth Vadar), Tom Brady (of the New England Patriots) and Madonna! Yet, beyond the star power connections the students at the University of Michigan are doing amazing things. Many current and graduated students have launched nonprofits and various business ventures locally and abroad. As an example Oshki is recycling plastic waste and turning them into clothes, and Dough helps students manage their student debts. These student started organizations show the caliber and ingenuity of students at the University of Michigan. As such their Entrepreneur program was voted #1 by the Princeton Review (2019 Edition).
With over 28,000 undergraduate students at the University of Michigan students have ample resources and learn, grow, and thrive. Off campus students can enjoy local favorites such as Zingerman's, a deli/grocery store with a Trader Joe's feel, Tracklements, the best smoked salmon I've ever had in my life, and Fairy Doors. I think if you're looking for a big football school, that's near a big city The University of Michigan could be a good contender.
